As we do now every Thursday we offer a selection of burgers in addition to our full Evening menu

Tonights guest burgers are…. drum roll please…

 

Hawaiian – Delice classic beefburger with pineapple, bacon and cheese

Spicy Thai – Spiced up beefburger with wasabi coleslaw

Breakfast – Delice classic with hash brown, fried egg and cheese

All served in a bun with salad and homemade wedges for the very reasonable price of 13.90€

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve had the time to write a Délice update. 2 restaurants…whose crazy idea was that? Oh yes, mine! I am a self confessed workaholic but the holiday period was like cramming for your finals on a daily basis! Late nights followed by too early mornings, living off caffeine and meals on the run made college a not so distant memory (although I’ve opted to skip the revolving dancefloors and drinking games this time round!)

Luckily the pace has eased this last week and we’re all getting the time to gather stock, rest and become human beans again. We’ve even had time to put our creative heads together and come up with some events at Le Délice to lure you Chamoniards down the valley and to get you Les Houchiards out of your slippers on these cold days and into our fine restaurant.

The new winter menu’s a total cracker this year and in addition to this we’re going to offer some extra menu events a couple of days a week, so…

MONDAY NIGHT is now STEAK NIGHT 6-10pm

Due to popular request we’ve decided to offer a different steak cut each week which will rotate (entrecote/rump/filet etc) with a choice of 2 sauces, served with homemade onion rings, hand cut chips and salad. It will be priced according to the type of cut but it will always be a great quality/price ratio. This week it was 17.50€ for a 200g entrecote steak.

THURSDAY NIGHT is now BURGER NIGHT 6-10pm

As our homemade Délice burger is such a big hit we thought we’d embrace its popularity and offer some other burger options on a Thursday night (Mushroom and blue cheese, goats cheese and red pepper to name a couple of the options)

To launch this night our first Burger Thursday, the 19th Jan, we’re offering for every burger ordered you can have a second half price. So team up with a mate and come and indulge!

We will be serving our usual full evening menu on both of these evenings, you can peruse it on this site

Last minute snow…last minute accommodation deals..

It’s snowing again, and the lifts are open. The atmosphere’s changing as we finally begin to feel the winter season has begun, hoorah!

I have a friend who has 2 self ctarered chalets that have at the last minute become available, due to a cancellation, for christmas bookings. They can sleep between 8 and 16 people and the available dates are the 17th-26th december

Opening this Thursday 8th December at 5pm

I hope you’ve all had a good interseason. Caught up on sleep, sun and sport only to now be dumped back into a sleepless, franctic lifestyle where the to-do list never decreases, the phone never stops ringing and long leisurely lunches accompanied by a glass of wine are a far distant momery…
It’s a big week for us in down here in les Houches, we ‘re doing the Les Houches double with the opening of both Le Délice and our new sister bar/restaurant at the bottom of the Bellevue, the Kitsch Inn. Here are some details for you local folk who’ve been starved of a social life, food that you don’t have to prepare yourself and cold draft beer this Autumn!

Le Délice’s opening this Thursday 8th December from 5pm with an new and exciting menu, fresh faces as well as a few faithfuls. If you want to check out our new menu it should be posted here  Tuesday.
We’ll be opening from Friday 9th onwards from 11am – 1am everyday serving brasserie style lunch and our more gourmet International fusion food at night. To throw a little spice into our opening night its timed to perfection to coincide with Steph’s birthday shenanigans so come and celebrate with us.We’ll be having an private open evening at Le Délice on Wednesday 14th December from 6pm where we invite all local chalet owners, staff, transfer companies, guides and other business owners to come and sample some canapés of our new menu, have a drink or three and meet other folk who are going to be around this winter. It’s an opportunity for us to discuss our bonus schemes, commissions and offers that we provide for regular users of Le Délice, to hand out our new menus and for you to meet our staff. In turn it is a great opportunity for you to come and blow your own trumpet, drop of publicity and pitch your own services. The very talented Eleanor will be playing some music and the canapés and free drinks will run to 9pm paying bar thereafter. Kitsch Inn
The Kitsch Inn is opening this Friday 9th December at 9.30pm, revamped refined and raring to go. We’ve recruited a brilliant team for this winter and have been eagerly preparing, sampling (what a hardship!) and practising our food service and concept this week.
Our apres-ski and retro suit suit clad opening party won’t happen till the lifts open on the Saturday 17th Decemberbut meantime we thought we’d have a soft opening and get the show on the road in terms of the restaurant, bar and café.
From Saturday 10th December onwards we’ll be open everyday 8am – 1am for breakfast (including full english everyday), self-service lunch and usual table served dinner although as soon as the lifts start running we’ll peel ourselves out of bed for an earlier 7am kick off and a 2am close….aaagh…bye bye sleep hello winter season!Sunday 11th Dec sees the first Sunday roast (12-3pm and 7-10pm) twinned with a special pre-christmas Beads and Beanies sale from 3-9pm

Tuesday 13th Dec we’ve got Sarah Thain’s viewing and sale of her new and restored furniture, from Atelier 552, from 4-8pm

Winter Opening

Our opening date is set for the Thursday 8th December 5pm

There’ll be a whole new delicious menu concocted my our head chef Louise, but don’t worry we’ll still have the rhubarb and vanilla cheesecake, the Délice burger and a  few other classics that are back by popular request.

Summer Opening – Friday 10th June from 5pm

Hey all, we’re back and preparing to open for the summer. It all kicks off this Friday 10th at 5pm with an extended happy hour till 8pm and our new tasty menu. We’ll be open everyday thereafter from 11am – 1am, serving food all day and night. We’re welcoming back some old faces, with the return of Lou, Jackie, Claire and Jo and we’ll be introducing a couple of new ones, with the arrival of Aine, Ellie and Hugo.

Lou and Jackie have been putting their creative heads together and have a new flavour filled menu for you plus a load of fresh ideas. Soya milk for coffees, loyalty cards for regulars, new decor to name but a few. They’re keen to run some events and special menu evenings so watch this space for what’s upcoming.

We’ve decided for the summer to drop our happy hour prices to..

2€ for a demi stella or glass of house wine, (that’s 4€ a pint hey builders!!)

..to get you all onto our sunny (although not today!) terrace between 4 and 6pm everyday.

Summer Opening – Friday 10th June

Hey all, we’re back and preparing to open for the summer. We’re welcoming back some old faces, with the return of Lou, Jackie, Claire and Jo and we’ll be introducing a couple of new ones, with the arrival of Aine and Ellie. So yes, as you see, unintentionally (promise!) we have an all girls team! We are still hoping to recruit another chef, males welcome, although must own ear defenders!

There’ll be an exciting new menu plus a load of fresh ideas from our resident manager, Jackie. Watch this space for what’s coming up and don’t forget we’re opening this Friday 10th June at 5pm…

Hey there survivors – 25% off the usual price

We’re winding down for the end of the season at this end of the valley and life is taking a gentler pace. Considering I’m working less it’s amazing how there’s still not enough hours in the day to tackle that backlog of paperwork what with all the leaving/birthday/end of season shenanigans to fit in! The end is in sight though and rest for the body, mind and liver is near, at least I hope so.

We’re closing up the restaurant this Tuesday 26th April until the 10th June. We thought we’d hold out until the Winter Sessions tornado has done its damage, thinking that you might all be in need of a calm chill on the terrace with a nice glass of wine and some delicious home cooking by then.

For our last 2 nights (tomorrow, Monday 25th, and Tuesday 26th April) we’ve decided to sell off all our food at a huge 25% off the usual price. This’ll be your last chance to sample this winters menu (the amazing sticky toffee pud, scallops with sweet potato and wasabi pea purée, the tikka lamb with len til dahl and all those other top sellers Lou created) as we’ll be doing our usual overhaul of the menu for the summer.

In addition on the Tuesday we’ll have an extended happy hour all evening.

Looking forward to a final fling with you all, I hope some of you can make it down, it would be lovely to celebrate our last shift with the usual suspects.
